Tasty Pitta Pizza
Who doesn’t love a tasty Pizza? Great for lunches or dinners, and they are easy for toddlers to eat.
Here’s What we used for these delicious pitta pizzas (made 4 pitta pizzas)
- Grab a Pitta (one per little munchkin)
- Tinned tomatoes
- 1 small tin Sweetcorn (or 1/2 cup of frozen)
- 1 Pepper
- A small handful of Minced beef
- 1 Chicken breast
- Half an onion
- 1/2 cup of grated cheese
- 2 spring onions
We normally use any left overs, so mushrooms, lamb, we have even tried curried pitta pizzas, which were a big hit! You can make any combination of delicious pitta pizzas.
Make your pitta pizza…
First off you will need to cook off the meat in a pan, I cooked off the chicken first just in some olive oil and then browned the mince. Also pre-heat your oven to 200°c/180°c for fan.
Grab the pitta and spread the tinned tomatoes over it to the edges. Dice the half onion and add these on top of the tomato base. Next scatter the sweetcorn over along with the diced peppers, cooked chicken and minced beef. Then sprinkle over your grated cheese and diced spring onions.
Depending on how old your toddler is will depend on the cooking time. So for my 10 month old I cook her pizza in the oven for 6 minutes, this way the base it still squidgy enough for her to eat with out the risk of choking on a crispy base. Whereas my 20 month old son likes his base a bit crunchy, so I cook his for 8-10 minutes.
For babies who are weaning and toddlers cut the pizza up into bite size slice and let them enjoy!
